Travel Rule requirements for UK cryptoasset businesses have applied since 1 September 2023. The process should not be treated as a mere message-sending integration.

## Define the information flow

Originator and beneficiary details, the status of the counterparty and the transfer flow are handled together. Determine the required fields and verification steps from the applicable rules.

## Missing information and the counterparty

A separate flow is needed when the counterparty does not use the same technical infrastructure or does not respond. Do not record missing data as a completed transaction; keep the assessment and the reason for the action.

## Rule, guidance and product

Separate the roles of the FCA statement, the underlying legislation and JMLSG guidance. A working integration does not by itself show that the legal requirement has been met.
