AMLD5 and AMLD6: naming and scope differences

When abbreviations such as AMLD5 and AMLD6 are used, the full regulation number and date matter.

When abbreviations such as AMLD5 and AMLD6 are used, the full regulation number and date matter. Because the name AMLD6 in particular is used for different texts, relying on the abbreviation alone can cause confusion.

Cite the full source

Write the directive number, the official title and the relevant implementation context together. Do not mix texts from different periods under a single "sixth directive" summary.

National implementation

Separate the subject of the directive from the implementation and transitional conditions in the relevant country. Changing the date of an old guide is not enough to treat it as current.

Translating into controls

Map the legal requirement separately to the institutional process and the product control. Screening software does not by itself replace the whole AML framework.
